|
The genesis for the Human Body Project came from the idea that underneath it all, we are more alike than we are different. When up an running fully, the H.B.P. will have 3 components: 1.)Virtual Body Archive; 2.) Virtual Movement & Position Archive; and 3.) the Virtual Trainer program. The Virtual Body Archive is meant to be both a resource an artistic project. It covers participating individuals both at static points in time and for some across their lifespan. The V.B. Archive has both high-resolution, 3-dimensional digital images of these individuals combined with a comprehensive statistical database that contains both physical statistics and non-physical personal statistics. The Virtual Movement & Position Archive is also meant to be both a resource and artistic project. It cover participating individuals from a variety of performance fields including athletic and artistic endeavors. The V.M.&P. Archive will contain high-resolution, 3-dimensional digital images of these individuals in movement and particular body positions. The Virtual Trainer program is the core of the H.B.P. The V.T. is a program designed to utilize data obtained from the V.B. and V.M.&P. Archives to educate and train individuals in movement in athletic and artistic performance fields. Using statistical and visual data from the V.B. and V.M.&P. Archives, the V.T. along with person-specific criterion (of the trainee), the program does comparative analysis between desired actions and actual actions of the trainee in real-space. Person-specific instructions are then given to help the individual reach the desired actions. Participation Each component of the H.B.P. has an area or position for those interested in getting involved.
